The Science Center is celebrating its centennial with extensive renovations and expansions that will transform it into one of the most lovable science centers in the country. The new enhancements are part of Phase II of our 100-year vision and will include additional galleries by 2025.
The Science Center has five main parts: the Great Lakes Exhibit, Great Lakes Theater, the Storytelling Studio, the Innovation Lab and the Crazy Action Lab. Here’s a guide to help you navigate the Center by learning about each part and finding your way around. See more here.
The Great Lakes Exhibit is home to the Center’s flagship gallery, with immersive exhibits and interactive experiences that explore the Great Lakes and the connections between the region and the world. There’s also a Great Lakes Theater, where visitors can see short videos and learn about the Great Lakes ecosystem. The Exhibit is located on the first floor of the Science Center’s Great Lakes Building, and the Theater is located on the second floor. The Great Lakes Theater features short videos that are designed to be viewed and experienced multiple times to learn more and give a deeper understanding of the Great Lakes. There are also digital exhibits that can be explored alongside the videos, such as one that tells the story of a fisherman who discovers a sunken rocket. The Theater is located on the second floor of the Great Lakes Building. The Great Lakes are the largest freshwater system in the world, and the center’s flagship gallery explores this wondrous ecosystem. The galleries have interactive experiences, immersive exhibits and live animals that explore the lakes and their importance for ecosystems and human life. There are also digital experiences where visitors can explore the Great Lakes in 3D, or create a Great Lakes-themed digital drawing. The Great Lakes Building holds the Great Lakes Exhibit, the Storytelling Studio, and Innovation Lab. The Storytelling Studio is a quiet space where you can enjoy a cup of tea or a snack while you listen to an audio tour conducted by an expert onsite staff member. In the Storytelling Studio, you can hear stories about the Great Lakes and learn about the Center’s work, including how the Great Lakes are being impacted by climate change. Innovation Lab is where you can explore science, technology and engineering in fun, hands-on ways. The Innovation Lab features interactive exhibits, experiments, games and more that explore the world of science. The Innovation Lab is located on the first floor of the Great Lakes Building.
Mothers and fathers can learn together with their children at the Storytelling Studio. The Storytelling Studio holds a series of storytelling events from May-October each year that present the Center’s work in an engaging and educational way. Each event is designed for families with children ages 5-12, with themes and acts that are age-appropriate for the audience. The events are free and open to the public, and the Center’s storytelling staff and experts will be present to answer questions and engage with guests. The Great Lakes Theater is located on the second floor of the Great Lakes Building.

I wholeheartedly recommend them to my family, friends, and colleagues!Posted on Bonnie UnderwoodTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to thank everyone at Advanced Dental Care and Aesthetics for the care my husband Darel received. First thank you to Jennifer for quickly getting an appointment scheduled when he broke a front tooth. Dr. Sam and Jennah took such great care at his first visit. Dr. Sam was compassionate and took the time to explain the course of treatment. Mandy worked hard to get an appointment booked quickly on a day that worked best for us. At his next visit, Mikenzi and Dr. Sam were able to restore his smile!!! Once again, my husband had an abscess and Dr. Kiren and her assistant Skyla were able to get him out of pain. Katie did a wonderful job with his fillings. That evening, Dr. Kiren took the time to call and check on how he was doing!!! I would also like to mention Maddy, she has a warm smile and is very welcoming when we come into the office!!Posted on SadiaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
